Jake's Natural FIne Foods (a.k.a. "Jake's") was created in Austin, Texas by Patti Harrison and partner David Levy in early 2005 as an alternative to the glut of granolas, especially in bulk form, and packaged as well. We started out with only one flavor of Granola; Original Almond, which became an instant hit with virtually all of those who've tried it. Patti Harrison, originally from Beaumont, Texas, grew up in Houston and moved to Austin in the mid-nineties. She spent many years as a mortgage underwriter, but always had a burning desire to express herself through her art, be it sculpture or as a foodie. With the formation of Jake's she finally did get the chance to break out and create some of the best gourmet food products to come along. She is also responsible for Jake's "look" as far as marketing and packaging is concerned. Besides all that she believes in keeping in shape and is an avid gardener. Patti met David Levy at the Continental Club, Austin in early '95. David was the drummer for the "Blues Specialists", who'd been playing there for many years on Friday evenings at happy hour. Six months later they were married. Little did they know that ten years down the line they would put their heads together and come up with Jake's Natural Fine Foods. David, who hails from New York City, started his career as a musician, playing classical drums in NYC's All City Orchestra and moving on to Jazz and then Rock and Roll and eventually into the recording studio as a "session cat". David spent virtually his entire life either playing drums or working in restaurants as a bartender, cook, waiter, dishwasher... or whatever was needed. Photography, carpentry and writing are some of his other passions. Selling Jake's fine products has become his newest passion and he's doing it well (the fact that Jake's products practically sell themselves, makes it much easier).
